So far, Prague has been witnessing some record breaking weather temperatures this year. We have only had a couple of mild spring days and the climate jumped straight to summer days early on in April. Prague was ranked the world’s greenest city in 2018 with plenty of natural and man-made green space throughout the city. Many of these spaces also offer a chance to go swimming outside and the choice of outside swimming pools and baths is much bigger than in other European cities. 1. Outdoor Swimming Pool in Podolí
One of the most popular places to go swimming in Prague is the Podolí swimming centre. The site offers two outdoor swimming pools – one 50m and one 33m long. For the kids there are also a couple of paddling pool and a fun toboggan. There is a large grass ground for sunbathing as well as stalls where you can buy some refreshments.

2. Swimming lake Džbán (Divoká Šárka)
This large swimming lake is located on the outskirts of Prague near the beautiful nature reserve Divoka Sarka (Wild Sarka). It is a beautiful place for a walk along the hills and meadow valleys which which can be topped of with a cooling swim in the lake. The water quality is regularly measured so you can check the current hygiene levels before you go.

3. Hostivař reservoir beach
The Hostivar Reservoir beach is the largest lake in Prague, located in the calm natural area of the Hostivař Forest Park. It is a hidden gem for spending a day by the water even often overlooked by the locals. This swimming location offers a wide range of water activities and fun things to do like a water slide, a mountain-climbing wall and a childrens play area. The Petynka Swimming centre is also a popular place for swimming in Prague. It offers a 50m outdoor swimming pool surrounded by wide grass sunbathing areas. 5. Biotop Radotín Swimming Baths
This newly constructed natural Swimming Biotope was only built and opened recently in 2014. It is a unique concept where all water cleaning and filtration is done through natural processes using water plants and other natural ecosystems. No chemical substrates are used for cleaning the water at all. The outdoor swimming lake offers both shallow and deep ends. The centre also offers slides and other activities for families with children.

6. Aquapalace Prague

This swimming centre is recently opened and offers a 25m indoor pool with 5 swimming lanes. There is also a 1,2m deep general purpose swimming pool. Kids can enjoy some fun on the tobogan, whirlpools and a wild river.

This water resort is located on the Barrandov hills and is a great place for a family to spend a day near the water.
